Thanks to his brilliant win in Piazza del Campo in Siena, Wout Van Aert (Team Visma – Lease a Bike) claims Stage 9 of the FantaGiro d’Italia, the 181 km ride from Gubbio to Siena.

The Belgian champion scored a total of 78 points: 30 for the stage win, 4 for second place at the Red Bull Kilometer, 2 for placing in the 4th cat. KOM, 2 for third place in the Super Team partial standings, 5 for the Siena Jersey bonus, 5 for the Toast bonus, 10 for the Bouquet bonus, 10 for his first ever Giro stage win, and 10 for the Regina Never-ending passion bonus (awarded to riders over 30 winning a stage at the Giro).

In second place, new Maglia Rosa Isaac Del Toro (UAE Team Emirates – XRG), who earned 70 points: 10 for taking the Maglia Rosa, 10 for leading the current GC, 18 for his stage placement, 6 for winning the Red Bull Kilometer, 1 for placing in the 4th cat. KOM, 5 for his team’s first place in the Super Team standings, 10 for claiming the Maglia Bianca, and 10 for the Bouquet bonus.

Completing the podium, Giulio Ciccone (Lidl–Trek) with 24 points: 6 for his place in the GC standings, 15 for stage placement, and 3 for Lidl–Trek’s second place in the Super Team classification.
